Aion Devs Promise Significant Yearly Updates

Aion Devs Promise Significant Yearly Updates

Perhaps a bit of old news for some, but welcome nonetheless, NCSoft brand manager Christian-Peter Heimbach made a statement on the future of Aion updates.

"There will be at least one major update a year. You know this from our previous titles. We’re currently adjusting on how we’re going to make these available, but there will be free content updates for all players, and we’re looking then at how big the major updates will be.”

The statement could be interpreted as free updates and paid-for expansions, or just free updates in general. Either way, it is great to hear that Aion is scheduled for more than a few moving forward.

Numerous IP-Bannings Sweep Aion

Numerous IP-Bannings Sweep Aion

The community has been crying out for it, and yesterday it happened, the banhammer fell axing a ton of accounts. The forums are abuzz with reports on bots that are no longer seen or some bots that were missed. There are even some people claiming to have been wrongly accused.

A couple of threads on this topic appeared during the night and rather than replying to each one of them I thought I'd create a new one.

We have, as you know, recently banned a large number of users for violating our User Agreement. If you found yourself unable to log in after the night, that would be the reason.

If you are 100% sure you have not been involved with any activity that would violate our User Agreement (this would also include anything related to RMT), then we suggest contacting our Customer Support team who will be able to look into your case.

We understand that the timing is very inconvenient and will make sure that inquiries on this matter are made top priority. Our GMs will be working through the weekend to sort this out as quickly as possible.

Character creation on the servers were temporarily locked for 8 hours while the bans took place. Ayase added that IPs or ranges frequently used by RMT operators may be blocked, but he didn't have specific details.

Were you one of the few wrongly banned? Is NCSoft doing a good thing by applying wide-spread IP bans? Read the official announcement here.
