Aion was the topic of Slashdot a few weeks ago, and not for a good reason. You guessed it, spamming and phishing attempts. Anyone playing can tell you, that NCSoft has reacted at least somewhat to the phishing attempts by counter-spamming the populace with their own "warning message". GREETINGS DAEVAS! There have been frequent phishing attempts on our players using web sites that imitate ours. If someone is advertising a site in chat, do not go there. Your items will be stolen. Our official sites are aiononline.com and ncsoft.com only. Please don't enter your Aion account information on any other site. [East]Lumiel Extended Downtime and Maintenance 10/19 This message was posted 2:30 a.m. PDT 10/19. We have been experiencing technical difficulties with North American server [East]Lumiel since 00.15 a.m. PDT 10/19. We have in our investigations managed to pinpoint the problem to server hardware that needs to be replaced. Unfortunately replacing the affected parts will result in a short rollback on the server, causing activity during the final 30 minutes to one hour before the server’s downtime to be lost. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has brought and are working hard to get Lumiel back up again. We estimate for logins to be possible again within 15 minutes of this posting.
